Teri defines “weed,” and discusses the scope of the problem and what gardeners can realistically expect to achieve in their battle. She will review a variety of nontoxic and low-toxicity ways to fight back, saving herbicides (including Roundup) for last. Teri will provide profiles and discuss 10-12 plants of concern for homeowners in the 518.

Biography

Teri Dunn Chace has over 35 books in publication, including the American Horticultural Society Book of the Year award-winner Seeing Seeds: A Journey Into the World of Seedheads, Pods, and Fruit (Timber Press). She’s also written and edited for major consumer gardening/outdoor-living publications (Horticulture, North American Gardener, Backyard Living, Birds and Blooms) and is presently the garden-and-nature columnist for the award-winning “Bottom Line Personal” newsletter. Her most-recent titles are Low-Water Landscaping for Dummies (2023) and Landscaping for Dummies (2022).
